Diana Gabaldon, the author of the Outlander novels has revealed that she has started writing a prequel about the parents of her beloved hero Jamie Fraser. Taking to her Facebook account this week, Diana Gabaldon shared with her fans the potential opening line for the book, which she has been working on for the past few years, alongside the tenth installment in the Outlander series. One thing is certain, it is that the plot promises to be thrilling.
An exciting new story
Next to a photo of a red ivy trailing along a terracotta wall, she wrote: 'And that's just one line - but I think it might be the first line from the book: 'Ellen MacKenzie, eldest child of Jacob Ruadh MacKenzie, chief of Clan MacKenzie - well, the late chief, - grabbed Ailidh Watt from behind and dragged her out of sight, putting a hand over her mouth slobbering to drown out her screams.'" She added that although she has "just started" working on the new novel, she has "written more", but won't be publishing more for some time. The prequel to the story of Jamie, Ellen and Brian Fraser's parents is finally starting to take shapeand all the fans are wondering... Could a series on these two characters see the light of day?
