Worked better than Thundershirt to calm my cat and he was unable to get it off by himself!
I bought this and a Thundershirt for a cross-country move in my car with my cat. I put the thundershirt on him first, and my extremely timid cat, he did the Freeze & Flop right away, and then started moving around after a few minutes, and he got out of that by himself within 10 minutes.
The next day I put this harness on him to try that - and after 2 hours he had not gotten out of it. I did then try to put a leash on and he immediately got out of it backwards (easily) I was no way fast enough to let go quick enough to avoid that!
However the interesting thing is that this harness created the SAME reaction in my cat as Thundershirt - the "freeze & flop" he just laid down and let me pet him and he purred a lot! I think this can be used in lieu of the Thundershirt so I returned it and kept this one.
Note, my cat is 16 pounds (much of which is in his tummy area, and he fit into the Small/Medium just fine as the harness doesn't go that far down his belly to his wider part.
