marshall has made the best qualuty bluetooth speaker in this size and price range. looks great and sounds super clear and the bass too! i got 2 of them. dont pay attention to the handful of idiots who couldnt figure out how to pair the bluetooth with their iphones or turntables. it works! no you cant shut the red power light off and yes it has to be plugged in. it comes with power cord. and you can switch from bluetooth to using the aux jack. read the manual
