My first Microwave Popcorn Popper
I absolutely love this popcorn popper. I’m on Weight Watchers and was looking for a less fattening way to eat my favorite snack. I saw this popper while browsing Amazon and thought I'd take a chance. The popper worked beautifully the very first time and I've used it every day and just love it. The only thing I didn't realize is that you need to use the PowerCup microwave concentrators with it, of which 8 are provided with the popper. However, if you are careful and do not use oil on the kernels, the concentrator can be used several times before it has to be replaced. When I first got the popper, I squirted a little Pam cooking spray on the kernels and found that after only 2 pops there was a hole burned in the middle of the concentrator. What I do now is just put the kernels in without anything. Once popped I spray a little nonfat seasoning spray on the popcorn and then add the salt. Delicious. I went ahead and ordered more concentrators for the popper and the price was fairly reasonable. They were less than $12.00 for 4 packs of 8 concentrators. That's 32 in all. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a low-calorie snack that's easy and more cost effective than Microwavable bags. Once I've worn this one out, I will definitely be ordering myself another one. PS: The trick to not burning the popcorn is to not wait for a specific time to stop the popping process. Once the popping slows to within a few seconds between pops, stop the microwave. You may leave a few unpropped kernels in the bottom of the bowl, but it's better than burnt corn. Enjoy!
