Perfect design!
This is what the babies traveled in. Every cage and pen that was big enough for my standards (they had to be able to stand up in it), wouldn't go thru the backdoor. This one has a frame in the center that keeps it from collapsing. It can twist and turn to get thru the car door but is tall enough for them to stand in and long enough for food and water at one end and their travel potty box at the other end. Yes, I said travel potty box. It folds up completely and snaps closed. When unfolded, it has a zippered lid for moving to empty. It was like $17 on Amazon. The pen has handles on each end for two people to carry each end. However, in a pinch, you can hold a handle with each hand and hold your arms out as far as you can to carry it by yourself! It's 300° waterproof material with about 60° netted viewing area so you can keep an eye on your little ones and just as importantly, so they are reassured and can see you! Benjamin has a reputation for chewing his way out of netted pens so I had a heck of a time finding something. In case he were to chew any holes, I brought duct tape! He was too busy figuring everything out and sleeping to bother chewing. My stories also kept him entertained. This is without a doubt one of the best purchases I've ever made. There isn't even one small adjustment I'd make, no design improvements needed! You can't say that about many things. I fully expected it to be trashed by the time we got here but it's in perfect condition. If folds up like an accordion, the sides snap closed, and it comes with a waterproof carrying/storage case.
It was absolutely perfect! Also, I bought a backseat cover for the car fully expecting bedding, food, and all kinds of mess to find its way out of the pen. Nope. That car seat cover is just as clean as it was before I put the pen in!
