Food loving cat happy (and so do we)
Our 7 year old cat would constantly demand food several times a day so my husband and I were over feeding to placate him. As a way to combat this we decided to buy this automatic feeder. It has been amazing! We've set up his schedule to feed him 4 times a day (so every 6 hours), that way he has a steady flow of food going into his bowl. We also were able to measure exactly how much food he'd need to finally lose that extra weight he gained due to over eating. Determining the portion size took some math as the bag states how much food in cups while the automatic feeder dispenses portions in lbs but we were able to get the right amount determined. We only need to do 1-2 portions per feeding and the automatic feeder goes up to 30+ portions so it could easily dispense enough for more than one cat or even a small dog. At 6 portions per day, I'm only needing to fill up the automatic feeder once every 2-3 weeks so it is low maintenence. Probably my favorite feature is that it also has a back up battery in case the power goes out so our cat always gets fed. Overall, he is much happier as he nows gets his food on an exact schedule throughout the day and we are happier as he no longer yowls at us at random times when hungry.
